It is hard to believe that tomorrow is ‘the big day’ and we will be coming back together as a community for a new year of learning. We hope everyone had a great summer and was able to do something fun, new, or different with family and friends. The school is clean, classes set up and we have a gorgeous new playground to open.
As we begin this new school year with enthusiasm, energy and renewed vision for student achievement and well being, we want to say thank you to our families for your ongoing support and involvement. The success of our students is the result of hard work and engagement, but relies also on the partnership between home and school. Please continue to stay in contact with your kid(s) teachers and with the office and join us at the school when you can. School Council nomination forms are available. Our first council meeting is September 18 and everyone is welcome- whether you want to be a council member or just attend meetings, please come out! We value your input and contributions.
In the coming weeks we will share more information about what we are learning in the classes and we will share more information about our school wide focus on problem solving, meaning making and risk taking. Please join us in October for our Curriculum Night (details in the start up package coming home).
THE PLAYGROUND- there is still a fence around the playground. We will be removing the fence sometime tomorrow and going over the safe play instructions with students so that we can start using it. We will have an official opening as part of curriculum night. We hope you enjoy hours of fun together at playground.
TOMORROW- staff will be heading outside with class lists to greet students beginning at 8:50 a.m. Once the bell rings at 9:00, we will wave goodbye and head inside. If it is raining, we will all meet in the gym. Dismissal will be at 3:30 from the side and rear doors. Do not park in the bus loop.
Please remember that after tomorrow, we ask that parents do not remain on the tarmac after drop off so that we can adequately supervise students. You may park in the lot or on the street but no vehicle is to be left unattended along the curb in our bus loop and drop off zone.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning!
