Robotics for the Win!

A group of ten mavericks travelled to Seneca College today to participate in the annual York Region Skills Challenge. German Mills had students participating in the Character Animation Challenge, TV/Video Production Challenge, and the Regional Lego Robotics Competition. The competitors competed in their events as a team of 2 or 4 and demonstrated great teamwork as they worked collaboratively through their challenges. Special mention goes out to our Lego Robotics team. They were required to complete various garden themed tasks on a game board (i.e. collect tomatoes, put weeds into a compost, hang a rake, plant a flower) and scored 965 out of a possible 1000. This score proved to be the best of the day, capturing the gold medal in Lego Robotics. As Regional Champions for Lego Robotics, the team of Daniel, Christina, Taylor, and Raymond will be representing York Region at the Skills Ontario Lego Robotics competition on May 7. Good luck team!
