Congee Cup

After 7 intense weeks of Congee Cup floor hockey action, we finally have our champions.  Congratulations to the Chick Fillets for winning the 10th annual Congee Cup Floor Hockey Tournament.  The tournament has raised just over $1000 which will help support the cost of Grade 8 graduation.  We would like to thank all the players who participated and the spectators who cheered them on.

A very special thanks goes out to the Congee Cup student committee.  Without their dedication and hard work, the tournament would not have been a success.

Happy Holidays!

Thank You for Another Successful Book Fair!

Our December Scholastic Book Fair was a great success! With the support of our German Mills families, we exceeded our sales goal, and sold over $3500 in books and merchandise. Using book fair rewards, popular book titles were selected to add to our Library collection. For those families who have books on back-order, all orders were placed on Friday afternoon, and students will be given their books as soon as they arrive.

We are thankful to all of our hardworking student and adult volunteers for their commitment to our school fundraising initiatives. We also appreciate our German Mills staff and families for helping us foster a love for reading, literacy, and all types of learning.

Happy winter holidays to all!

Mrs. Adams, Teacher-Librarian

Parking Lot Safety

It is imperative that student safety be our priority when driving through our parking lot; as such, please remember to use caution when driving, and be mindful of your speed.  We encourage students to exit their vehicle from the curb side; as opposed to exiting on the side where traffic is moving.  We respectfully ask that you, under no circumstances, park in the drive through lane.  If you need to park your car to enter the school or wait for your child/children please use any empty parking spaces or utilize curb side parking along Simonston Blvd.

Please share this information with any guardian, grandparent or relative that drops off/picks up at the school. We need to work together as a school community to redress this student safety concern.

Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.

Thank You For Another Successful Food Drive

We’d like to acknowledge our German Mills Families for their generous donations during our Annual Food Drive.  We collected 22 large boxes of food along with a lot of tea and coffee. Way to go Mavericks!!!!!! Your giving will have a positive impact on many people living in the Thornhill community during the upcoming holiday season.
