Mr. Bendahan and Mr. Gulab had their hair dyed hot pink as their way of saying “thank you” to our students and families for all of the funds raised during our 10th Annual Dance-a-Thon.
The theme is Blue and White
March is coming to an end but the Madness is only beginning. It’s time for the third annual Maverick Madness half-court basketball tournament. With over 50 players, 15 student volunteers, 8 teams, 4 referees, 2 scorekeepers and 1 championship trophy, the Maverick Madness tournament will be an event you don’t want to miss! The tournament begins March 26th and is open to all Grade 6,7 and 8 students. Season passes are already on sale for $5. Snacks and drinks will be sold inside the newly renovated Maverick Arena. All funds raised will help support the Grade 8 graduation. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting tournament. Buy your season pass by Monday March 25th!
Dear students, families, and staff,
Our 2019 Dance-a-thon has come to a close! The raffle draw took place this afternoon; congratulations to all our raffle winners!
This year’s dance raised $5,656.90!
Your generous donations will enrich our Library and technology at the school. We appreciate your generosity and continuous support.
We have more fantastic news!
We came so close to our fundraising goal that Mr. Gulab and Mr. Bendahan will honour their agreement and dye their hair any colour after the March Break!
A big thank you to our parent volunteers who donated their time on the day of the dance to help with freezies, glow sticks, and counting raffle tickets. Also a big thank you to our teachers for donating such wonderful prizes!

This is a reminder about our Spirit Day tomorrow; students are encouraged to wear clothing that inspires thoughts about sun, sand, and beach fun!
Our Dance-a-thon was a great success! Students had a wonderful time dancing throughout the day! We have raised just over $4,700! Funds will go towards technology and the Library Commons.
Thank you to our generous community for their donations and their on-going support.
We are still accepting donations so if you have not returned your pledge envelopes it is not too late to get your raffle tickets. If we raise $6,000, two of our teachers will dye their hair any colour – students’ choice! The raffle draw will be held on Friday at lunch recess.
Please remember to bring your pledge envelopes to school.
The intermediate boys basketball team wrapped up a very successful season with a strong second place finish at the Area West tournament on Thursday. For 3 months, the boys were dedicated to the team. They brought intensity and energy to every single practice and game. Your coaches and school are very proud!
A Big Win For Two Mavericks!
A big congratulations goes out to John Michael Symington and Kaili Meiusi. They competed in the TV/Video Production competition at York Region’s Skills Challenge yesterday. They won the gold medal for their outstanding video that was filmed and edited all on the same day. They will now represent YRDSB at the Skills Ontario video competition in May.
