After 6 weeks filled with absolute basketball madness at German
Mills, we are pleased to announce that the winning team of the 2019 Maverick
Madness Basketball Tournament is the Home Team Hoops!
They came from behind to beat the Jazzy J’s in overtime.
Congratulations to both teams for making the final a truly epic game that
Mavericks will remember for years to come.
A HUGE thank you goes out to the Maverick Madness Committee! Their
help before, during and after every game ensures that the tournament is
efficiently run and the reason why it continues to grow in popularity
and production value. We had over 50 students across grade 6,7 and 8 participate
this year and hope to see most them back next year. Thank you to the amazing
referees and student score keepers who ensured that fair play and team
play were a part of every game.
We invite you to browse the collection of lost and found items that will be on display in our main hallway, if you are in the building later today attending our Spotlight Talent Show. The display will be maintained until Friday April 26th; you are encouraged to retrieve any lost items by this date.
The city is interested in recruiting a crossing guard to service the intersection of Simonston and Waggoner’s Wells. Please download the attached file if you would like to learn more about this opportunity.
German Mills P.S. is pleased to be holding a Heart & Stroke Jump Rope for Heart event on May 3rd, 2019. All money raised will support Heart & Stroke in their mission to promote children’s health and fund vital heart and stroke research.
Jump Rope for Heart encourages students to get active by skipping rope while they collect pledges for heart disease and stroke research. They also learn the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and giving back to their community. This year Heart & Stroke is striving to get 1 million children jumping in close to 4,000 schools across Canada. Let’s be part of it!
We need your help to reach our School fundraising goal of $2500.
Please help support your child’s fundraising efforts by registering them online at jumpropeforheart.ca and send out donation request emails to friends, family and colleagues.
